Irvine, CA - DrChrono by EverHealth received the EHR Innovation Award in the sixth annual MedTech Breakthrough Awards program.
The award was for a COVID-19 vaccination effort run with emergency relief nonprofit CORE and patient messaging firm Curogram. It covered all 18 health districts in Georgia.
More than 96,000 doses were given out. Over 30 mobile teams took part, starting in 2021.
MedTech Breakthrough named its winners in May 2022. It reported more than 3,900 nominations that year, from over 15 countries, across 11 categories.
"We are honored to receive this recognition from the MedTech Breakthrough judges and program," said Brent Michael, President of EverHealth EMR and Practice Management solutions, at the time of the award.
"We are extremely proud of the successful program, the well-executed integrated solution, and the thousands of people throughout the community we were able to help during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic."
MedTech Breakthrough is an independent research group covering digital health and medical technology. It ran the awards program each year, and 2022 was the sixth.
DrChrono won in the Electronic Health Records category. The award release was issued on May 11, 2022.
Judging covered firms worldwide. No single feature was named. The citation pointed instead to mass vaccination outreach reaching underserved patients across a whole state.
CORE ran all the sites. The nonprofit, set up by Sean Penn and Ann Lee, managed both the mobile and the fixed ones.
DrChrono supplied the clinical record. Its EHR recorded and managed patient health data across the program.
Curogram provided the patient-facing tools. Those covered online patient registration, site setup, scheduling, recalls, and a module that sent each dose to state immunization registries.
Georgia itself was the fourth partner. Eighteen health districts worked from one system rather than eighteen.
Sign-up had to happen before arrival. A paper form at a mobile site stops the queue behind it.
Recall had to run on its own clock. A two-dose plan means each person is called back on a date set by their first visit.
Reporting had to run itself. Every dose reached the state immunization registry without separate data entry. At this volume, typing them in would have needed its own staff.
Curogram has since covered the same moving parts at a smaller scale. Its piece on patient recall and revenue recovery in Practice Fusion takes the recall side. Work across many sites is covered in enterprise telehealth workflows for Oracle Health teams.
DrChrono is part of EverHealth. It offers health records, practice management, medical billing and revenue cycle tools on one platform.
The company says it serves thousands of doctors and supports millions of visits. It trades as DrChrono under EverHealth Solutions, beside CollaborateMD and Updox.
Black Book ranked it the top mobile EHR from 2013 to 2021. It also holds a DEVIES Award for healthcare innovation.
EverHealth is a brand of EverCommerce, listed on Nasdaq as EVCM. Its software covers practice management, behavioral health, records, patient messages and payments.
EverHealth says it serves more than 72,000 providers. EverCommerce claims more than 600,000 service firms across four brands.
Both figures are reported by the companies themselves.
Curogram makes patient messaging software for medical practices. It covers two-way texting, online forms, telehealth and Mass Text Messaging.
It links to record systems a practice already runs. Messages and finished forms attach to the patient record.
Practices can book a demo to see sign-up, recall, and reporting running together.
